Broken Forestay
So we checked if the parts we needed were available in Brazil and found out that not all of them were. Having them shipped over might have been a problem because Brazilian customs have a reputation of keeping packages for a long time. We didn't really want to find out if that reputation was founded. Also they tax everything at 100% if sent but not if carried by a traveler. Luckily, Gaston's sister, Danielle, needed a vacation. The repair became team work. We ordered the parts from EB Spars, Marcel, a brother in law, picked up the parts in Hudson to bring them do Danielle and she brought them to us in Brazil. Her first day here was spent helping us fix the fore stay. Once that was done, we took her around town for a week. She is back in Mtl since yesterday. We are planning our second try at leaving for Jacaré at noon today. Hopefully, all will go well this time...
