I missed a good occasion to keep quiet!
Everything is wavy today. Literally! If we thougth yesterday that it couldn't get any worst, we were wrong! We had gail all of last night accompanied by wind that went from 0 to 30 knots and back again and 2-3 meter waves on our side. Following a communication with a cargo which was 1,5 nm from us, we had to deviate our course about 30° to avoid collision. The officer on the Clipper free was a perfect gentlemen. We have also come to understand the use of prepared can food. It is a good thing that we prepared a few pots at Nicole's before leaving. This enable us to have goulache with rice last night for diner even with the conditions (Thank you Nicole and Marcel). During the day, the rain came to pass, the wind steadied at 25 knots and the waves are still the same. We reduced our sails to three reefs on the main sail and the storm jib to avoid hitting on the waves. This slows us down to about 3,5 knots with a heading of 111°. The prize today goes to Bidule and Capy. Bidule for it's amazing ability to cut through the waves and Capy (our Cap horn windvane) for keeping the right heading. As for the crew, after catching up on the lack of sleep from last night, we are all back in good spirits. We have 250 nm left to go.
