Nous avons presque vécu une séparation! La plate-forme de baignade a crié : "J'en ai assez de l'abus de cette mer! J'me barre!" (Apparemment elle est française) Nous lui avons répondu: "Attends, il fait nuit. Nous y verrons plus clair demain." Au petit matin, elle avait déjà viré toutes ses vis. Elle poussait et tirait sur les mains courantes de chaque côté ainsi que l'élastique qui tenait son échelle; les derniers ancrages qui entravaient sa liberté. Le capitaine à sauté dessus et comme il a décrit à un copain : "J'ai dû descendre sur cette tablette, l'assurer avec un bout de dyneema et, le cul dans l'eau par période, vagues obligent, j'ai percé bois et métal, taraudé et boulonné à 6 endroits. La perceuse a survécu (je ne sais pas pour combien de temps.) aux assauts répétés des vagues qui la submergeaient pratiquement entièrement sans parler de celui qui la tenait! Enfin, cela devrait tenir jusqu'à l'arrivé." Il a le tour avec les femmes!

Nous avons heureusement été dans la pétole sinon, ce sauvetage n'aurait pas été possible. En ce début de jour, le vent revient tranquillement (10 noeuds). Il devrait y avoir 20 noeuds de portant SO aujourd'hui alors nous devrions faire du chemin mais, pas trop vite car le coup de vent au nord n'est pas encore passé. Il fait plus beau et chaud ici.

We have almost gone through a seperation! Our swiming platform screamed : "I've had enough of this abuse by the sea! I'm leaving!" We answered: "But wait! It's dark! Everything will be clearer in the morning." In the morning, she had already got rid of all of her srews and was pulling at the handle bars on each side as well as the elastic holding it's ladder; the only anchorages still restraining her from freedom. The captain jump on her and as he wrote to a friend (loosly translated): "I had to go down on the wooden tablet, tie it up with a dynema rope and, with my ass in water on occasion because of the waves, I drilled holes, threaded and srewed in bolts in 6 places. The drill survived (who knows for how long.) to the repeated assaults of the waves who submerged it almost entirely without speaking of the person holding it! Anyway, it should hold until we arrive." He has a way with the ladies!

We were very gratefully, that we had no wind today or this rescue would not have been possible. At the start of the day, the wind is rising slowly (10 knots) and should keep going up from the SO to 20 knots so we should make some headway but not too fast because there is still bad weather up north. It's much nicer and warmer here.
